xxx Teaneck, NJ, inspired the nation and the world, when during the mortgage crisis; she xxx 100 apple cakes in ten days to sace her home of 20 years from foreclosure. She baked xxx and sold them at $40 each, this saving her home from foreclosure. Her story was made into a major movie and oday, Mortgage Apple Cakes is a successful business delivering cakes, and smiles, and a movie to satisfied customers.

Jacqueline Kates is a former Mayor of the Township of Teaneck. She served as a member of the Teaneck Township Council and as a Trustee of the Teaneck Board of Education, including two terms as Board President. She retired in 2016 as the Community Relations Coordinator at Holy Name Medical Center. She was formerly Counsel for Community Affairs to Fairleigh Dickinson University President Michael Adams, Legislative Aide to New Jersey Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle D37, and a Community Relations Specialist in the Bergen County Department of Human Services. The former chair of the New Jersey State Human Relations Council, the Bergen County Human Relations Commission, and the Bergen-Passaic Chapter of the American Conference on Diversity, she currently serves as the Project Advisor to Age-Friendly Teaneck. She and her husband Michael are graduates of Teaneck High School, as are her son, daughter and son-in-law.

Dr. Henry Pruitt has been a Teaneck resident since 1963, Pruitt completed three terms on the Teaneck Board of Education where he served two years as president. He also served as an elected councilman and deputy mayor of the township. Dr. Pruitt served on the Board of Trustees of William Paterson University for 33 years, from 1983 to 2017. Named trustee emeritus upon his retirement from the Board in 2017, he is the longest-serving board member in the University's modern history. Dr. Pruitt is married to former Teaneck school principal Dr. Zita Pruitt and is the father of four children who graduated from Teaneck schools.

Senator Weinberg was the majority leader of the New Jersey State Senate. She had been a member of the Assembly since 1992 where she represented the 37th Legislative District. Prior to her election to the state assembly, Sen. Weinberg was an assistant administrator for Bergen County from 1975 to 1985, and a member of the Teaneck town Council. The senator co-chaired the Legislative Select Committee on the investigation that examined the unlawful closing of access lanes to the George Washington Bridge in September 2013. On January 13, 2020, Weinberg announced her retirement from politics in January 2022 when her current term expired.
