Age-Friendly Teaneck celebrated the “graduation” of our four high school interns last week, and we’re already missing their enthusiasm, energy and curiosity.

ITNNorth Jersey is a four-year-old program that relies on volunteers to drive older adults and those with visual To grow old in your community, you need to be able to get around in your community. That’s why transportation is listed a key priority of age-friendly organizations across the globe. In car-dependent Bergen County, it can be daunting to find alternatives to driving.
A year after Teaneck’s leaders voted to join a global alliance of age-friendly communities, the Township’s commitment to a more livable environment for older adults is paying off. Teaneck was recently notified it will receive a $10,000 grant through the AARP’s nationwide Community Challenge competition.
