Kosher meals to homebound seniors and disabled individuals throughout Northern NJ
Delivers: 1 week supply of frozen meals
Onsite food pantry - call for appointment


Bergen Meals on Wheels Program - 201-336-7420
For persons age 60+ years who are homebound, unable to prepare their own meals, have no one to assist with meal preparation during the day, and not a Medicaid recipient of  MLTSS.
Delivers: 1 hot meal per day or 1 week frozen supply 


Helping Hands Food Pantry - 201-837-1600 x1825
For Teaneck residents who are in need of assistance by providing weekly, non-perishable food to help supplement the cost of food.
Tuesday and Thursday 12:30-2:00 pm
Thursday 6:00-7:00 pm

Teaneck Public Library - 201-837-4171
TPL is now a pick-up location for Field Goods locally-grown fruits and vegetables every Thursday! Pick up time is between 11:45 and 8:30 pm. Order deadline is Mondays by 11:50 pm. Pick up bags at front desk.

Seven day emergency food packages to seniors. Food must be picked up. Renewal required every 30 days.

Installation of grab bars and railings and other minor safety repairs, at no cost, for senior citizens and people with disabilities 

Rebuilding Together North Jersey - 201-447-8886

Assistance for low-income homeowners, particularly: seniors, people with disabilities, veterans or their spouses, members of the military, and families with children, with home improvements

Safely @ Home - 201-518-1175
Home safety modifications offered by Jewish Home Family to ensure that those seniors who are aging in their own homes can do so safely in the community. Seniors can opt into the membership program to receive services or volunteer program to aid their peers.

Snow Shoveling Assistance - 201-862-1200, ext 1603
Residents in need of snow shoveling assistance (for a nominal fee) during the winter months may contact Miss Witter at The FORUM at 201-862-1200 ext. 1603. This is possible through the Teaneck Council and The FORUM at Teaneck High Snow Removal Collaboration.

Ensures safety and well-being of registered Teaneck seniors  through daily phone call check-ins
by the Teaneck Fire Dept. between 8:00 - 9:00 am

CHEER Program - 201-489-9454, ext 203
Through the Bergen Volunteer Center, volunteers help with shopping, errands, light housekeeping, etc.

Telephone Reassurance: Weekly calls to homebound seniors keeping them connected to the community and giving peace of mind to seniors who live alone.
Friendly Visitors: Matches seniors with volunteers that provide companionship through weekly visits.

An educational program under the Commission on Accreditation for Home Care in the State of NJ that is designed to provide tools/methodologies to enable seniors to be empowered and effective advocates.
