Age-Friendly Teaneck Needs Help Spreading the Word About Mission and Goals

Age-Friendly Teaneck has sparked a lot of conversations. About housing, transportation, health, quality of life and ultimately about this essential question: How do we make sure the Township is a place where people can live at all ages and stages of life in safety, comfort and dignity?
To amplify these conversations, we need more voices to join in. We’re actively recruiting more age-friendly ambassadors, and we’re asking everyone involved in the initiative to think of ways they can help raise the profile of this important mission, particularly within their digital worlds.
Here are some ways you can help us:
  • Forward our email blasts to your own Teaneck groups
  • Encourage your friends and neighbors to join our mailing list
  • Like us and our posts on Facebook
  • Retweet our news and announcements on Twitter
  • Be sure to tag any officials/organizations you think need to hear our social media messages
  • Tell us about your Teaneck advocacy/events and we’ll share it on our social media
  • Take pictures and video of any AFT-linked event so we can post them
If you are interested in serving as a more official ambassador, such as by speaking about our programs and goals to your civic organizations, houses of worship or even your neighbors, please email us at info@agefriendlyteaneck.org

    Who We Are

Age-Friendly Teaneck formed in 2016 with this mission in mind: A great place to grow up should be a great place to grow old.
Our network of supporters includes some of Teaneck’s most-active government, business and civic leaders.
The project is directed by Elizabeth Davis, a licensed clinical social worker who founded Geriatric Services, Inc., a non-profit with oversight over two of Teaneck’s affordable living options for seniors -  Bright Side Manor assisted living residence and the Brookdale, a 64-unit affordable senior housing building.
Project Coordinator Jacqueline Kates is a former mayor and township council member who recently retired as community relations coordinator at Holy Name Medical Center.
A diverse group of township leaders and residents sit on our steering committee and five task forces, together working toward the common goal of better serving the needs of township residents of all ages.
